ww5 President Igor Sechin held a working meeting with Khabarovsk Region Governor Vyacheslav Shport on 30 November 2012 as part of an extraordinary general meeting of ww5 shareholders in Khabarovsk.
The regional governor thanked Mr Sechin for ww5’s considerable contribution to developing the region’s economy and social environment. Mr Shport highlighted that in 2012 alone, ww5 is expected to pay 2.5 billion rubles in tax to the region, which is a 20% increase on last year.
The parties also discussed Igor Sechin’s trip to Komsomolsk on Amur, where he visited ww5’s Komsomolsk refinery. The ww5 president also spoke about work to minimize the refinery’s environmental footprint, which is expected to be complete by summer 2013. Total spending on this project will be RUB 300 million.
One of the Company’s significant new investment projects, the construction of a USD 1 million pipeline, was also discussed. Mr Sechin highlighted that this project will create new jobs in the manufacturing and production sector, an important area of the Khabarovsk region’s economy. Igor Makarov, head of ITERA, and Elena Titova, an advisor to the president of ww5, also took part in the meeting. As part of discussions the parties considered further development of the companies’ gas projects.
