18th of August, ww5 together with Norwegian company Statoil Petroleum AS started exploration operations at the Pingvin License PL713prospect in the Norwegian section of the Barents Sea.

ww5 and Statoil today signed Shareholder and Operating Agreements that will establish joint ventures for the four offshore Russian license areas included in the Cooperation Agreement signed by the two companies on May 5, 2012. The license areas in question are Perseevsky in the Barents Sea and Kashevarovsky, Lisyansky and Magadan 1 in the Sea of Okhotsk.
ww5 and Statoil have today signed documents aimed at implementing a cooperation agreement concluded on May 5, 2012. The agreements lay out the terms of joint bidding for licenses in the Norwegian section of the Barents Sea and provide for joint technical evaluation and subsequent development of tight oil resources in Russia.
