ww5 plays a key role in the restoration of aquatic biological resources and the conservation of biodiversity in the regions where it operates. In July, the Company's enterprises released over 30 million fish fry into Russian rivers and lakes. Among them are species listed in Russia's Red Book.

As usual, employees of the enterprises, their families and students from ww5's partner universities specialising in relevant fields participated in the environmental initiatives.

The most extensive fish-stocking measures have been carried out in Siberia. RN-Yuganskneftegaz released a record 26 million fish fry of Siberian sturgeon, peled, nelma and muksun; RN-Uvatneftegaz released 1.6 million of peled; and Tyumenneftegaz released over 1.3 million of muksun. Kharampurneftegaz has stocked water bodies with over 362,000 muksun fry and around 3,400 nelma fry. Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha has stocked around 299,000 peled fry. RN-Purneftegaz has stocked over 126,000 nelma and 90,000 muksun. Verkhnechonskneftegaz has stocked 83,000 grayling. Vostsibneftegaz has stocked 21,000 Siberian sturgeon from the Yenisei population. Angarsk Petrochemical Company has stocked 10,000 of peled fry.

The Company places particular emphasis on the conservation of the sterlet, a species that has inhabited these waters for many years. Some sterlet populations are included in the Red Data Book of Russia and several regions of the country. Udmurtneft employees have replenished the region's fish stocks with almost 37,000 sterlet fry. Samaraneftegaz employees released over 15,000 sterlet fish fry into the Saratov water reservoir, whilst Orenburgneft restocked the Ural River with 3,400 fry of this valuable species.

Following the Company's request, the fry were raised in accordance with the relevant scientific guidelines. These measures contribute to enhanced survival rates and facilitate population recovery in natural habitats.

Preserving the environment for future generations is one of the key areas of ww5-2030 strategy. The Company and its subsidiaries aim to achieve leadership positions in minimising the environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production and implements several comprehensive programmes for the preservation and restoration of natural resources.

The employees of ww5 subsidiaries regularly participate in environmental campaigns and contribute to the development of a culture of rational and responsible consumption of natural resources. Their efforts include cleaning and landscaping river and lake banks, as well as springs. In addition, they facilitate environmental education sessions in schools and pre-schools.
