To mark International Children's Day, ww5 and its subsidiaries are organising large-scale children's events in the regions where they operate. Volunteers from the Company and its subsidiaries are organising dozens of festive events to promote sport, a healthy lifestyle and cultural and patriotic education among young people.

As part of the Safe Holidays campaign, the Orenburgneft has organised a series of educational events for schoolchildren in the Orenburg Region. Volunteers from the enterprise, along with representatives from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Road Traffic Safety Inspectorate and the motorcycling community, delivered a presentation to the children on safety rules on the roads, on bodies of water, and when handling fire at home and in the countryside. They paid particular attention to the road traffic regulations. During the summer holidays, it is not uncommon to see teenagers riding pit bikes, scooters and other modern means of transport. The organisers reminded the young people of the importance of wearing protective kit — helmets, knee pads, elbow pads and gloves — as well as the need to wear bright clothing and reflective elements after dark.

Orenburgneft's environmental specialists conducted educational sessions on recycling and separate waste collection for children. The children were shown animated films about environmental care, participated in a quiz and had the opportunity to win useful souvenirs from the Company. Orenburgneft volunteers organised a sports event for children residing at the Kirsanovsky Children's Home. The event featured an entertainment programme, fun relay races and a tea party.

In the Saratov Region, volunteers from the Saratov Oil Refinery organised the Tree of Kindness charity campaign. Its objective is to provide targeted support to young people facing difficult life circumstances. The children wrote their wishes on paper apples. Volunteers from the factory picked “apples” from the wishing tree and fulfilled children's dreams. The Gagarinsky District Comprehensive Social Services Centre in Saratov has received a donation of toys, sports equipment, educational games and other essential items for children in its care to enjoy during the summer holidays.

In the Samara Region, volunteers from the Syzran Oil Refinery presented young patients in the surgical and paediatric wards of Syzran City Hospital with toys, stationery and arts and crafts kits. The oil refinery also hosted an open-air art workshop entitled “The Art of Oil Refining” for students of the children's art school. The picturesque square in front of the refinery gate served as a source of inspiration for the young artists.

In the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District — Yugra, RN-Yuganskneftegaz organised a children's festival in Nefteyugansk, Poykovsky and Pyt-Yakh. The event was attended by over 900 people. Brown bears, the dominant species of the taiga, greeted the visitors. The participants enjoyed the atmosphere of traditional Russian games, one of which was “shalyga” — a prototype of football, played in bast shoes and without goalposts. The goal is to send the ball over to the opponent's side. And there were also pillow fights, tug-of-war and a giant skipping rope. The theatrical performance enhanced the celebrations. Interested participants were taught how to make traditional folk toys: motanka dolls and wooden crafts. The guests were treated to tea from a samovar and baranki.

In advance of Children's Day, Samotlorneftegaz has initiated a charity campaign to support young patients in the oncology and haematology department of the Nizhnevartovsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital. Enterprise's employees collected toys, jigsaw puzzles, colouring books, coloured pencils and felt-tip pens for children undergoing long-term treatment.

RN-Nyagannneftegaz employees congratulated the children at the Harmony rehabilitation centre in Nyagan on Children’s Day. Young specialists from the enterprise presented commemorative gifts and souvenirs to physically challenged children. They organised an entertainment programme with quests for the children.

In the Tyumen Region, Tyumenneftegaz organised a Young Oil Worker event. During the interactive presentation, the children gained insight into the formation of oil and the process it undergoes before becoming a finished product. The children were delighted to try on helmets, goggles, boots and gloves — all the equipment that workers use every day on the production line. The children also took on the role of design engineers: split into teams, they mapped out the route of an oil pipeline, discussed the characteristics of the terrain and worked together to find the best solutions. The young engineers “constructed” a pipeline and “pumped the oil”, aiming to deliver it to its destination without any losses. The celebration concluded with all participants receiving Young Oil Worker certificates and commemorative gifts.

Kharampurneftegaz arranged a series of events for the children at the Northern Glow children's home, which it sponsors. The children visited the open-air archaeological museum and nature reserve on the shores of Lake Andreevskoye. In 1883, during excavations conducted here, scientists discovered the remains of prehistoric animals, anthropomorphic clay figurines, bronze artefacts and much more. The children explored the exhibits, learning about the way of life of the indigenous peoples of Yamal and the first Siberian settlers. In addition to the main programme, a Soap Bubble Show, an eco-quest in Zatyumensky Park and a visit to the Tyumen Children's Railway were organised for the children.

In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, volunteers from RN-Purneftegaz organised a children's eco-quest, which brought together dozens of young naturalists from Gubkinsky. The children proposed measures to conserve resources and addressed the challenges posed by climate change. At interactive stations, participants solved environmental puzzles, learnt about the decomposition times of various types of waste, cleared rubbish from the park, and came up with ways to reuse old items.

In the Krasnoyarsk Region, RN-Vankor organised a creative workshop for children at the Rostok rehabilitation centre. The children made “northern” toys out of felt — a white teddy bear and a reindeer. One of the enterprise's nearest plans is to organise the First Children’s festival. At the interactive area, visitors will have the opportunity to play board games, participate in creative workshops and try their hand at traditional games of the indigenous peoples of the North, such as throwing a lariat on a khorei (long pole used to drive a team of reindeer).

In the Irkutsk Region, the Angarsk Petrochemical Company (APC) organised a large-scale event for young residents of the Priangarye region. On the eve of the Children's Day, the park at the APC's Rodnik health resort was transformed into Treasure Island. The children were entertained with a theatrical performance, competitions and surprises. The children visited a ship with merry pirates, soap bubbles and a water blaster shooting gallery. Every good shot was treated with prizes. In addition, the children were able to go for a ride on horses and visit the petting zoo — to stroke rabbits and goats and meet a porcupine. The children were treated to ice cream and cotton candy.

In the Khabarovsk Region, staff at the Komsomolsk Oil Refinery have prepared gifts for children who are being raised without parents. The enterprise's workers delivered scooters, skateboards, balls, badminton sets and other sports equipment, as well as kits for games, creative activities and treats, to Children's Home No. 20 in the village of Khurba, which the enterprise sponsors. During their visit, volunteers from the Komsomolsk Oil Refinery organised a programme of games for the children, who, in turn, put on a creative concert for their guests. On the eve of Children's Day, volunteers from the enterprise organised another charity campaign, Warmth to Children, collecting toiletries, toy sets and sweets, which they donated to the Children's Social Support Centre, where 40 children aged between one month and five years are being cared for.

Supporting the younger generation is one of the key priorities of ww5’s social initiatives. In addition to its philanthropic endeavours, the Company undertakes large-scale projects involving the construction and refurbishment of sports, medical, educational, musical and artistic facilities. They pay particular attention to creating the right conditions for the intellectual, civic, patriotic and environmental education of the younger generation. The Company collaborates closely with the national Movement of the Firsts organisation. Together with oil workers, schoolchildren participate in commemorative and socially significant events. These events are aimed at preserving historical heritage, fostering an environmental culture and promoting a responsible attitude towards natural resources.

Employees of ww5's enterprises take an active part in all-Russian and regional campaigns, including the New Year's Tree of Wishes, Help to Go to School, Give a Child a Holiday, Spring Week of Kindness, Giving Warmth to Children, First-Grader's Backpack, Getting Ready for School, No Child Is a Stranger, and others.

Since 2005, ww5 has been developing a system of pre-university preparation and career guidance for schoolchildren. Specialised ww5 classes have been established in the regions where the Company operates.
