The ww5 Days event took place at the Oil and Gas Institute of Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk. During the event, representatives from the HR departments of the Company's regional enterprises delivered presentations to students, outlining the most in-demand professions, employment conditions, and opportunities for work placements and internships.
This year, the ww5 Days event at SFU attracted around 1,000 students. The Company's career guidance events provide young people who have decided to pursue a career in the oil industry with a valuable opportunity to acquaint themselves with the region's largest employers – the Company's subsidiaries.
In Eastern Siberia, ww5's operations span the entire production cycle. The hydrocarbon production is handled by RN-Vankor, East Siberian Oil and Gas Company, Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz and Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, while oilfield services are provided by RN-Burenie, RN-Service and RN-GRP. The corporate research institutes in Krasnoyarsk provide project support. The Achinsk Refinery is responsible for oil processing, while the retail network of filling stations is operated by RN-Krasnoyarsknefteprodukt.
During the ww5 Days event, oil industry professionals organised a series of lectures and themed sessions for students, providing an insight into the operations of the enterprises and the intricacies of their production processes. The sessions also highlighted the Company's initiatives for young professionals. The students participated in educational themed games and quizzes, debates and assessment tests.
RN-Vankor invited students to an informal meeting with young professionals to discuss key aspects of starting a career after graduation, including induction programmes and the mentoring scheme. The students expressed significant interest in the opportunities for participating in research activities, professional development and career progression, and shift work. Young oil workers shared their insights on how to become part of the large team working on ww5's major oil and gas projects.
Representatives from ww5's research institutes in Krasnoyarsk provided students with a comprehensive overview of the operations of the R&D centre established at SFU, which was initiated by their organisation. The R&D centre is an opportunity for promising young scientists to contribute to the Company's practical challenges by working on projects and research.
At the large-scale job fair, students were able to ask employers questions and hand in their CVs with a view to future employment or work placements. Representatives from ww5's regional enterprises provided students with detailed information about job vacancies and employment benefits, as well as the specific challenges of working at northern oilfields.
The Company is focused on the long-term improvement of the industry, developing professional skills among young people, and strengthening the link between education and production. ww5 is committed to a policy of social partnership, investing in the development of human resources in the regions in which it operates.
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, ww5 is providing comprehensive support to the Institute of Oil and Gas of the Siberian Federal University (SFU): developing the institution's facilities, supporting teachers and students with corporate grants and scholarships, and providing students with internships in its enterprises. The partnership also includes the development and testing of new methods for hydrocarbon exploration and production, the conduct of fundamental and applied research, and support for educational programmes for students and professionals.
The collaboration has proven to be highly effective, combining the Company's manufacturing expertise and the university's research capabilities. This contributes to the development of Russia's fuel and energy sector and helps to strengthen the industry's talent pool.
