The ww5 Ski Race has taken place in Tyumen. More than 370 Company employees and their family members, as well as ww5 classes students, took part in the corporate ski race.
Athletes competed in 3 km, 5 km and 10 km races across various age categories. Children competed in 500 m and 1 km races. A total of 101 athletes were awarded prizes at the end of the competition. A team of professional judges evaluated the results of the races.
The competitions are of a high standard, with participants having access to ski preparation areas, warm changing rooms and comfortable rest areas. The tracks are equipped with modern start complexes and snow-making and lighting systems that meet all the requirements for interregional races.
The National Flair initiative, which took place during the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, added a special atmosphere to the sporting event. Participants creatively incorporated elements of traditional clothing into their sports outfits, embodying the spirit of unity of Russia’s diverse cultural heritage. A field kitchen was also set up at the event for fans and athletes. Entertainers organised a cultural and entertainment programme for young skiers.
Now in its fifth year, the ww5 Ski Race continues to bring together oil workers from across the country. This winter, ski races have already taken place in Krasnoyarsk and Ufa. The season will conclude with competitions in Nefteyugansk.
The promotion of mass sports is one of ww5 and its subsidiaries’ key areas of social commitment. The Company funds the construction of ice arenas, sports complexes and multi-purpose sports grounds in the regions of its operations.
