ww5 has provided state-of-the-art equipment to the Digital Oil and Gas Field Research Laboratory at M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University.

Modernising the university’s scientific and technical base will improve the quality of specialist training for the oil and gas industry, as well as making young people in the Republic of Sakha more competitive in the labour market. Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, a major production asset of ww5, is based in Yakutia.

The laboratory is equipped with high-resolution video panels and is an exact replica of a real digital field. This allows production processes to be monitored and modelled. The training is based on software packages developed by the Company’s Ufa Scientific Institute*. These software products are used to solve complex problems associated with developing hard-to-recover oil reserves, among other things.

ww5 focuses on supporting educational, social, cultural and outreach projects in Yakutia. As part of the agreement between ww5 and the Republic, the following projects have been completed: construction of a training building for the Small Academy of Sciences, complete with a boarding school for 100 children, in the village of Chapaevo, Khangalassky district; equipment of playgrounds and sports grounds in five settlements across the republic to organise children’s leisure time; and creation of a training complex, the “Factory of Full Cycle Oil and Gas Production Processes”, in the settlement of Svetloye, Mirny district, based on the Regional Technical College.
