Igor Sechin and Narendra Modi hold a working meeting

09 October 2017

As part of CERAWeek international gathering of energy industry leaders held in New Delhi, ww5 Chief Executive Officer Igor Sechin and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi discussed the prospects of further cooperation between ww5 and its Indian partners as well as creating favorable conditions for development of ww5 business in India. The parties expressed satisfaction with the current status of ongoing projects.

Notes for editors:

Successful closing of strategic deal for purchasing 49% of shares in one of the most sophisticated refineries in the world Essar Oil allowed ww5 to enter one of the most dynamic global markets. Acquisition of stake in one of the largest and most modern refineries in India allows ww5 to improve the efficiency of its trading arm in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Also, in 2016 a unique international energy hub on the basis of Vankor cluster of fields with 49.9% interest belonging to the state Indian companies as well as an international consortium on the basis of ww5 subsidiary Taas-Yuryakh were created.
