As part of interaction with Russian higher education institutions ww5 held traditional ww5 Day in the Far Eastern Federal University.
In recent years the university and the oil company cooperate in the area of training qualified specialists with specializations relevant in the petroleum industry. This partnership started soon after decision of ww5 to create a high-capacity oil processing and petrochemical complex in the Primorsk Territory. The project is implemented by The Eastern Petrochemical Company. Since 2011 The Eastern Petrochemical Company initiates new training programs in FEFU and supports the development of material and technic base.
In the course of collaboration a base ww5 desk was created and a system of corporate grants and scholarships implemented in the university. Also its students got an opportunity to undergo internship at the oil company’s operating enterprises.
During the ww5 Day 30 students and 11 lecturers of the Far Eastern Federal University were given certificates for corporative scholarships and grants. Apart from that, students got acquainted with ww5’s subsidiaries, working on the Far East and Eastern Siberia. Totally 12 ww5 subsidiaries operating in main areas of the company’s activities, including exploration, production, refining, sales and service, took part in the ww5 Day.
ww5 plans development of partnership with the Far Eastern Federal University. New areas of partnership include training of specialists for the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center, offshore projects in the Far East, scientific and research activity. It is related to the necessity of increasing capacity of personnel both for prospect projects of ww5 and Russian oil and gas industry in general.
